Private servers are usually free servers that either run on a server emulator or on a free version of the server software. Private Lineage 2 servers for example sometimes use a "leaked" version of the retail server software which is nothing but an illegal copy of the original server software while others use a java emulatar that was developed from scratch. The legal status of playing on such servers is questionable, since also the game client is copyright protected. While we allow you to select a few private servers from our list of servers and also accept other names for that list we do not allow you to post any informations on any private server be it links or the full name of the server so people can search it with google. We allow general discussion on the topic, but that's it.IMPORTANT: This is not a service to find private servers. This site is to help you find your gaming pals and to keep contacts with them. If you abuse it to advertize for illegal or semi legal services you will get banned immediatly! Keep this site clean <3
Apart of the danger of old enemies sending you taunt messages or some game trader abusing the service to send you annoying spam messages there's nothing to fear I think. In the latter case just leave a message and we'll ban that -_-. Of course the same basic rules of every forum or communication platform applies here. You shouldn't give out personal info easily. Especially not the kind of infos that could get your game accounts hacked or your bank accounts emptied. If someone sends you links or anything - don't run somethíng you don't know, don't click links that look suspicious. Use common sense, have a good virus killer/trojan scanner installed and you should stay safe. To make sure people don't know characters are linked to each other feel free to create several accounts. You just need a different valid email adress for each. Freemailers are allowed as long as there won't be any spam bots abusing these services. And please don't forget to use a safe password, at best with numbers so your account can't be accessed withour your permission.
In short: We will not sell any of the informations you leave here, we will not send you spamm all the info is just used for site functions and nothing else. There're several ways of how to make the site make pay the server and traffic costs without hurting the people using it and to avoid any confusion - these are them:
- Google ads below our content. They load fast, offer mostly relevant ads and don't annoy too much.
- Premium features for paying users. The last option if nothing else works. But we won't make a single required feature pay to use. It will be just bells and whistle features - like maybe being able to upload screenshots to their character pages, etc . - for those that support the site. At the moment nothing like that is planned.
So don't worry, we won't rip you off, make money off selling your personal data nor make the things you see today pay to use at any time. If you don't trust us, just use a freemail adress, we don't ask for any other personal infos.
